My first purchase from a vintage store was this 1950's blue cotton floral fit and flare dress. I bought it at a vintage store in Austin, Texas and it fit me like a glove. That was kind of where my love for vintage clothing began. The metal zipper and the darts in the bust and pleats at the waist. That type of garment construction really intrigued me and then I really began to collect and study clothes. All kinds of magical things happened when I wore that dress!
These high waisted, gold lame', Disco pants were my favorite and I would pair them with everything! A friend once told me these were my "magic pants" so I wore them as often as possible.
In this photo I'm standing in front of my 1956 Aristocrat Travel Trailer, where we had a pinup photo shoot hosted by Dynamite Dames Photography.
This last photo is my wedding dress, which was actually a 1980's white fringe square dancing dress that I bought on eBay. My mother and I spent multiple trips to the tailor, and I had it altered to a 50's silhouette and the lace recovered with antique trim.
My husband and I got married two years ago in the Puerto Rican rainforest and here I am twirling on my wedding day!
Vintage clothing has defined me as a woman, and I'm thrilled to be able to share some of my favorite pieces.
